Visa announces PCI-compliance rewards for retailers

StoreFrontBackTalk.com: Retailers' lack of response to Visa's PCI compliance fines has caused the credit card company to offer cash rewards for compliance. Visa has dedicated $20 million for retailers that comply with industry-accepted PCI rules by Aug. 31, 2007. Visa confirmed Dec. 12 that only 36 percent of its largest merchants have complied; only 15 percent of Level 2 merchants have complied.
