As the card schemes continue to push toward EMV migration in the U.S., education will play a key part in its development and adoption. A new EMV e-learning course from UL specifically addresses the unique migration issues in the U.S. market.
UL already had a traditional, in-class training portfolio. However the company identified the need for more flexible training in a self-paced environment. Hence they developed an EMV e-learning course, the company said in a news release.
UL's portfolio of training courses consists of 15 specific courses related to the transaction security domain, and already includes a traditional in-class course on EMV in general and EMV in the U.S., specifically.
Berend van Geffen, commercial director at UL Transaction Security, said that UL was proud to expanded its in-class portfolio and provide individuals the ability to learn about EMV in a flexible environment, without the need to travel.
"Our subject matter experts have put immense effort into this training course, ensuring it touches on all necessary points to really understand what EMV is all about," van Geffen said in the release. "This is true e-learning and one of its kind and (we) are confident that this e-learning course will contribute to the adoption and knowledge of EMV in the U.S."
