U.K. police say phone-booth ATMs are prime targets

(Edinburgh) Evening News: Police in the United Kingdom say the new phone booths that have been fitted with ATMs will likely become prime targets for ram-raiders and robbers. (Read also, Nationwide builds ATMs into phone booths.) Four booths have already been installed in Edinburgh, but council planners for the city are expected to halt all future installations. Police also claim that workers filling the machines with cash could be at risk of robbery, and that members of the public could be watched as they withdraw cash by those who use the booth's telephone, which is only inches away.
