Triton RL1600 ATM named 'Best New Product' for c-stores in '09

October 12, 2009

Long Beach, Miss.-based Triton Systems of Delaware Inc. has announced that its entry-level Triton RL1600 ATM was named the winner of the 2009 Retailer Choice Best New Product contest by Convenience Store Petroleum magazine.

According to a news release from Triton, the RL1600 was voted on my readers for the general equipment category.

Launched in March 2009, the RL1600 is an off-premises ATM designed for retailers. With a color display, TCP/IP communication capabilities and a Windows operating system, the RL1600 offers more than its typical entry-level counterparts, Triton says. It offers advertising and screen-customization options, allowing ATM owners at retail locations to create marketing messages and dispense coupons to drive traffic and build customer loyalty.

Additionally, Triton says, the RL1600 now supports secure socket layer (SSL) and remote key transfer/loading (RKT/RKL) technology, reducing maintenance time and expense. SSL, a communications protocol that allows the ATM to be operated over the Internet, can eliminate the cost of monthly phone lines and VPNs. RKT allows ATM keys to be loaded directly from the host, eliminating the cost of sending technicians to an ATM when keys must be loaded.

Triton will be exhibiting its RL1600 at booth No. 1115 during the 2009 National Association of Convenience Stores Show from Oct. 20 until Oct. 23 in Las Vegas.
