TNS Smart Network renews PCI compliance for ATM network
March 5, 2008
TORONTO — TNS Smart Network Inc., Canada's largest privately owned transaction processor, has renewed its annual compliance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard.
TNS says it successfully renewed its compliance in Canada and the United States under Visa's Cardholder Information Security Program and MasterCard's Site Data Protection Program.
To achieve compliance with Visa USA, Visa Canada, MasterCard WorldWide and other required parties, TNS undergoes the most stringent service provider assessment category, the Level 1 Service Provider category reserved for Payment Card processors and gateways.
TNS must undergo annual renewal in order to continue to provide its independent sales association partners with service to international visitors who use Visa Plus cards through TNS's ATM network.
"TNS' ongoing PCI compliance under Level 1 requirements just reinforces our commitment to ensuring the safety of all cardholder transactions at ATMs connecting through TNS Smart Network," said Mischa Weisz, TNS's president and chief executive.
