A federal court in Texas sentenced Jawuan Donte Thomas, 24 for 57 months in prison for attempting to steal from an ATM in Utah by targeting a technician, according to a report by KSL.

Thomas worked with two co-conspirators, according to prosecutors to damage an ATM and then rob the technician at a bank in Riverton, Utah.

"My co-conspirators and I jammed the ATM, which we knew would cause the machine to malfunction and require Wells Fargo to call a technician to repair it," Thomas said in his plea agreement.

FBI agents arrested Thomas who was allegedly armed with a screwdriver at the time. He would later to be charged in a bank robbery in Ohio where he stole more than $200,000 through a similar technique.

He is being ordered to pay $205,080 in restitution with his two co-defendants.
