The U.S. District Court of Seattle sentenced Seth Coles-Body, 24, to 10 years in federal prison for a series of ATM thefts. He pled guilty to four counts of bank robbery and two counts of attempted bank robbery, according to a report by Komo News.

Coles-Body would disable ATMs, then attack repair workers who came to fix the ATM and steal cash cassettes. In one incident, prosecutors said that Coles-Body and an accomplish Amhom Hogg, 23, disabled a Bank of America ATM in Renton, Washington, and attempted to get the technician to open the machine. The technician refused, but in another incident in Vancouever, Washington, the two were able to steal five cassettes.

"This defendant targeted ordinary, hardworking citizens who were simply doing their job, and who now have to live with the fear and trauma that comes from being ambushed and beaten in their workplace," First Assistant U.S. Attorney Charles Neil Floyd said in the report. "Mr. Coles-Body used increasing violence as time went on. Even after several law enforcement encounters, he never slowed down; instead, he celebrated his robberies on social media. This significant sentence is warranted."
