Take the survey: ATM industry readiness for EMV

The 10-minute multiple-choice survey is open to all ATM operators — including both FIs and IADs — regardless of size.

January 11, 2016

The ATM Industry Association is inviting all U.S. ATM operators to participate in its 2016 ATM channel EMV readiness survey, which is open now through Friday, Jan. 29, 8 p.m. EST.

The 10-minute survey includes 20 multiple-choice questions and is open to all financial institutions and independent ATM deployers, regardless of size, according to an ATMIA press release.

Respondents need not be association members and may remain anonymous, if desired. ATMIA asks that only organizations that are operators (and only one respondent per organization) take the survey.

Results from the current survey will be compared with a similar study conducted in late 2014 in order to assess industry progress toward EMV chip card acceptance. The first EMV liability shift for ATM deployers will go into effect in October, at which time responsibility for fraud on MasterCard-branded cards will shift from card company to the transaction acquirer.

All respondents will have the opportunity to receive a full copy of the 2016 report with analysis of the survey results. ATMIA also plans to publish a shorter summary of the results, which will be made available to the general public in mid-February.
