Secret Service takes on I.D. theft rise in Calif.

The (San Jose, Calif.) Mercury News:The Secret Service has joined an investigation into the Los Gatos Lunardi's Supermarket, where the number of identy-theft victims, who reportedly had their personal information compromised after using an ATM at the store, continues to climb. Most recent figures show that 234 Lunardi's shoppers have been affected, and approximately $251,000 has been stolen since police discovered an ATM at the store had been tampered with.
