Salvation Army throws support behind proposed ATM ban in Australia gaming venues

Australian Broadcasting Corp. (ABC) News: The Salvation Army is calling on the New South Wales Government to follow Victoria's lead and ban ATMs from gaming venues.Victorian Premier John Brumby announced the ban yesterday in a bid to reduce problem gambling.It will come into force at the end of 2012, when existing gaming machine operating licenses expire.Salvation Army spokesman Gerard Byrne has welcomed the move, and would like a similar ban to be introduced in NSW.
