'PTMs' offer ATM service with live tellers

PoughKeepsie (New York) Journal: New banking technology has combined the convenience of an ATM with the comfort of human interaction. By using personal teller machines, or PTMs, users can do most of their banking around the clock, seven days a week.One New York credit union has set up ATMs that lets members interact with tellers through a camera and telephone. Other components include a transaction screen, key pad, electronic signature pad and PIN, a card reader, check and cash acceptor, scanner and receipt printer.
