Postilion delivers mobile banking, payment solution in U.S.

October 1, 2007

ATLANTA - Postilion, a software solutions provider for self-service banking and payments that operates as a division of S1 Corp., says it soon expects to launch the Postilion Mobile solution for U.S. banks and credit unions.

"Postilion is committed to extending its multichannel architecture to provide the solutions that meet the growing demands for integrated self-service banking and payment processing," said Pierre Naudé, general manager of Postilion Americas.

Active U.S. mobile-banking users are expected to reach 1.6 million by the end of 2007, and climb to nearly 35 million users by 2010, according to Aite Group. To that end, Postilion says its mobile solution can be easily deployed and quickly extended to offer new capabilities to help drive mobile adoption rates. It supports a wide range of banking and payment functions, is multilanguage and multicurrency capable, and offers a consistent look and feel across Postilion self-service channels, including the ATM.

"Unlike past efforts to deploy mobile-banking solutions, today's mobile applications leave something on the table for all the participants in the mobile financial-services ecosystem. That's what has been missing up to now," said George Peabody, director for the emerging technologies service at Mercator Advisory Group. "Postilion Mobile is among the solutions that now offers the U.S. market a more targeted, value-added mobile-banking and payments solution."

Postilion Mobile is based on technology developed by Fundamo, an international provider of mobile banking and payment solutions. Postilion has acquired a source code license to Fundamo's mobile-banking software, a proven technology that has been enabling mobile banking transactions since 2002.  In connection with the source code license, a team of employees has joined Postilion from Fundamo to further develop and enhance the Postilion Mobile solution.
