Paragon launches new session in free online EMV training series

E-payment testing solutions provider Paragon Application Systems has announced the next installment in its series of free online EMV training courses. The new program, "An Introduction to EMV, Part 1 — History, Business Drivers, Benefits and Challenges"follows last month's executive overview, 'EMV in 16 minutes.'

Topics covered in the 36-minute presentation include:

• a review of magnetic stripe transactions and technology;
• the basics of chip card technology;
• a history of EMV and EMVCo;
• an overview of an EMV transaction;
• EMV business drivers;
• EMV benefits and challenges.

The instructor for the class is EMV specialist Deborah P. Spidle, director of EMV Solutions at Paragon Application Systems.

"EMV is a new technology for many people," Spidle said in an announcement about the Part 1 installment. "Migrating to EMV is a large and challenging project for any organization. Before embarking on this large project, it's helpful to have some background about EMV. This 36-minute presentation is a good starting point for anyone who will be involved in an EMV migration project. Stay tuned for additional online EMV training classes."
