NCR to renew BankDhofar self-service network

BankDhofar, a retail financial institution in Oman, has selected NCR Corp. to overhaul its existing self-service network.

As part of the agreement, BankDhofar will replace its NCR Personas ATMs with NCR SelfServ 80 Series ATMs. The deal also includes a 10-year services agreement.

"BankDhofar is well known for being innovative and constantly striving to be the best bank for its customers by making banking easy and always available," Dr. Tariq Taha, chief information officer at BankDhofar, said in the release. "With the introduction of the innovative NCR SelfServ 80-Series ATMs, we now have a robust multichannel platform to spur future growth strategies and offer next-generation customer experience."

The bank will also implement NCR APTRA Vision to monitor its skimming protection system and, should a problem arise, alert support staff in real time. As a proof-of-concept the bank has added NCR APTRA Connections to maximize consumer interaction with its multichannel network, the release said.

The SelfServ 80 features a 15-inch multitouch display and tablet-like interactions. The machine's recessed keyboard provides natural PIN protection, and a picture-in-picture camera shows what's happening behind the user to prevent shoulder surfing.

Built-in video banking technology of the NCR SelfServ 80 Series enables FIs to streamlines service with civil ID reading, auto loans, mortgages, credit cards or deposits across the network. Ten-cassette cash dispense capability lowers cash replenishment costs, the release said.
