Reuters:Nationwide Building Society plans to address cash machine shortages by building ATMs into phone booths. The financial institution launched the cash machines attached to a BT kiosk as part of a pilot in May. Now the joint venture with BT plans to roll out similar ATMs across the country. The move comes soon after HSBC pledged to spend £50 million ($92.9 million) on new installations in areas lacking surcharge-free ATMs. Stuart Bernau, Nationwide's executive director, said the initiative with BT underlined the FI's commitment to providing cash machines that don't levy punitive charges.
