NACHA's number of ACH professionals jumps 85%

HERNDON, Va. - NACHA-The Electronic Payments Association announced that it accredited 668 payments professionals in 2006 under the Accredited ACH Professional Program.
According to a news release, the number of AAPs nationwide hit an all-time high of 3,036 in 2006, up 85 percent from 1999.
"The growth of NACHA's Accredited ACH Program reflects the growing importance of ACH payments to financial institutions and their customers," said Elliott C. McEntee, NACHA's president and chief executive.
