Montepio Bank to install 105 CINEO systems

February 20, 2012

Wincor Nixdorftoday announced in a press release that it will assist Montepio Bank of Portugal to upgrade its ATM network with the installation of 105 new-generation CINEO cash recycling systems at Montepio branches. Rollout is already underway for the systems, which are equipped with passbook processing and cash/check deposit modules. The project will be completed in April. Following installation, Wincor Nixdorf will maintain the systems for a period of three years.

Montepio Bank is Portugal’s oldest cooperative bank and serves more than half a million members through more than 470 branches. The bank is one of the few financial institutions in the country to run its own ATM network, branded as “Chave24”.

As is customary in Portugal, Montepio Bank offers customers a wide range of services on its ATMs. Users can deposit or withdraw cash and conduct some 68 other transactions such as paying bills and refilling prepaid mobile cards, to name only a few.

“ATMs are an important customer delivery channel in Portugal. We opted for Wincor Nixdorf because its solution meets our numerous requirements and offers our customers a broad portfolio of services,” said Rui Gomes do Amaral, Administrator at Montepio Bank.
