Monitise Americas wins global award

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Monitise Americas LLC, a mobile financial-services provider, has been named the most promising new entrant by the Cards International Global Awards 2008.
According to a news release, Monitise was a finalist for two industry awards, Cards & Payments Best in Payments award and the fifth Annual MITX Technology Awards.
Monitise Americas delivers mobile-banking capabilities directly to consumers' mobile devices through a highly secure and easily scalable service by replicating the interface of an ATM in an application on the mobile handset. "The mobile phone continues to revolutionize our daily lives, and banking has emerged as the next frontier," said Lisa Stanton, chief executive of Monitise Americas.
