A retired General Motors employee could be the luckiest man in Detroit. Also, the unluckiest man in Detroit.
The lucky part: According to ClickonDetroit, during an outing to a Motor City casino, Ronald Page stopped by an ATM. To his amazement, he discovered that though he had only a few hundred dollars in his Bank of America account, he was able to withdraw unlimited cash.
The unlucky part: Page proceeded to make the rounds of area casinos from the Greektown to the MGM Grand, withdrawing a total of $1.5 million in 15 days and losing all of it.
The unluckiest, but inevitable, part: Eventually, Bank of America found the error and Page found himself in a world of legal trouble.
But Page could find himself in luck once more. Prosecutors are recommending a light sentence for what they termed, in a case of monumental understatement, "a lapse of judgment."
