Israeli bank automates branch with Wincor solutions

January 11, 2007

PADERBORN, Germany - Israel Discount Bank, one of the country's largest banks, is expected to automate its branch processes through a deal with Wincor Nixdorf International and Wincor partner Taldor.

According to a news release, Wincor and Taldor will deliver a solution package that includes self-service terminals and software.

The bank is slated to equip its 260 branches and representative offices with 580 ProConsult 2000 and ProConsult 2050 terminals from Wincor, enabling bank customers to deposit checks, handle transactions online, and print account information. Installation began in December 2006 and should be complete in March.

The new order brings Wincor's installed base in Israel to almost 1,400 self-service terminals.

Taldor has developed software that integrates terminals in Israel Discount Bank's network. One function includes online check processing. Future plans include flexible software expansion, which will allow the bank to offer new services.

Taldor also will service the machines.

Israel's bank business is reportedly one of the fastest-growing markets in the Middle East.
