India's rural areas still lack sufficient number of ATMs

The (India) Economic Times:In India's rural areas, providing consumers with fast access to cash has been tough to deliver. Since the Reserve Bank of India decided to bunch ATMs with new bank branches and extension counters, no major players in India have received permission to set up more terminals. The problem: partnering rural branches and ATMs with city services.
