The International Commercial Cash Operations Seminar for EMEA took place Feb. 24–26 in Istanbul, Turkey. More than 248 delegates from 29 countries convened to share strategies, best practices and cost-saving technologies and case studies in cash circulation.

On day three of the event, GRGBanking held a breakout session addressing 46 delegates looking for ways to manage total cost of ownership for cash handling systems.
Hakan Soylu, GRGBanking GM in Turkey, told the audience that total cost of ownership includes the costs for infrastructure, service and cash handling — the last accounting for the largest portion, 40 percent on average.
Soylu shared details of a successful case in Turkey in which cash recycling reduced idle currency in the ATM by nearly 37 percent, while extending days between replenishments by more than 96 percent.
