Fair Investment Co.:HBOS (Halifax and the Bank of Scotland) has made good on its promise to begin installing free-to-use ATMs in some of the United Kingdom's least affluent areas. HBOS's banking group announced Aug. 16 that it's placing 10 ATMs, pending confirmation of planning permission and site availability, in Milton, East Dunbartonshire; Kenton in Newcastle-upon-Tyne; Pilton, Edinburgh North and Leith; Ardler in Dundee; Dalmarnock, Glasgow; Leven West/Methil in Fife; Claremount in Blackpool; Balderstone, Rochdale; Brierley in Barnsley; and Alexandra in Oldham. The new machines will cater to 70 of the most deprived areas in the U.K.
