GUSTAV: Triton closes offices in wake of storm

September 1, 2008

LONG BEACH, Miss. — Spokeswoman Alicia Blanda confirmed Tuesday that Triton Systems closed its offices for the day — a precautionary measure related to Hurricane Gustav. Blanda added, however, that the full company expects to open for operation Wednesday.

"We're still operating today but we decided to close the office, just as a precaution," Blanda said. "We haven't had any damage. The storm didn't come in as bad as we first thought."

While Blanda said the area where Triton is located has remained in relatively good shape, some parts of the beach took a hard hit — although nothing came close the destruction and devastation suffered along the coast during Katrina.

"It was just a little wind and a little rain," she said. "We never even lost electricity."

The storm and aftermath-recovery efforts are not expected to have an impact on Triton's pending acquisition deal with Seoul, Korea-based Nautilus Hyosung.
