DAYTON, Ohio - Sparkasse Hannover, one of Germany's largest savings banks, signed a deal with NCR Corp. for the installation of Personas M Series ATMs, according to a news release.
Thirty-seven cash-recycling ATMs will be installed in more than one-third of the bank's branches. The deposited, validated and sorted bank notes can be recycled through the ATM and dispensed back to customers.
"With these new ATMs, we will be able to equip our branch offices for the long term with the optimal solution for each branch location," said Matthias Benk, a member of the Sparkasse Hannover board. "If we convert some of our systems to the version with two dispensing slots, for example, we can satisfy customer demand for specific bank note denominations at the ATM. In the long run, that will have a positive effect on the service in our branch offices."
Michael Marheineke, NCR's Financial Solutions division area vice president for Central Europe, said the Personas' modular design allows banks flexibility, should they decide to offer different functions at the ATM in the future.
