Finnish IAD finds value in cash recycling

December 12, 2013

Automatia, the Finland-based IT service company that operates a nationwide network of 1,600 ATMs on behalf of 10 banks, has decided to add cash recycling to the capabilities of its fleet.

The company will install 150 Wincor Nixdorf CINEO cash recycling terminals next year, according to a news release from the German ATM manufacturer. Automatia has been piloting the systems since spring 2013.

The interbank ATM provider believes that a recycling ATM network will be good for both consumers and the FIs that serve them: Customers will receive better services, while banks will enjoy lower cash processing costs.

Rollout of the systems will start in February 2014. In addition to installing the hardware, Wincor Nixdorf will assume responsibility for maintenance of the systems. The company will provide software maintenance and development, as well.
