eSSecom becomes India's first EFT switch, gateway to earn PCI nod

BANGALORE, India — eSSecom, a third-party processor that provides transaction services that focus on the Internet and mobile commerce, has achieved compliance with the PCI Data Security Standard 1.1, making it the first payment gateway and EFT switch in India to be certified, according to a news release.
PCI DSS 1.1 is an emerging credit-card security standard.
"It is critical for users of our payment-gateway processing services, either over the Net or the mobile handset, to have the total mental comfort that their transactions are secure," said K. Sambasivan, eSSecom's managing director.
