eService installs 50,000th POS terminal with Postilion platform

LONDON — Postilion, a division of S1 Corp., says eService S.A. has installed its 50,000th POS terminal driven by Postilion in Poland. EService S.A. is the wholly owned acquiring arm of Poland's largest retail bank, PKO Bank Polski S.A.. Since it was established in 1999, eService has used Postilion to drive POS terminals, as well as to acquire and switch card transactions for banks and card associations.
According to a news release, eService is one of the fastest growing merchant acquirers in Poland and one of the largest in Eastern Europe. EService owns approximately 30 percent of all POS terminals in Poland and processes EMV-based card transactions as well as contactless-cards transactions.
"The Postilion platform has allowed us to compete effectively in the Polish market," said Maciej Maciejewski, technology and research department director for eService.
