Dublin-based Acquirer Systems, a provider of test and validation solutions, has announced that it is joining the 100-plus members of the EMV Migration Forum.
"The US is entering a critical phase in its preparation for EMV migration," said Randy Vanderhoof, acting director for the EMV Migration Forum and executive director of the Smart Card Alliance. "The EMV Migration Forum is seeking global industry perspectives and industry leadership to help us to navigate a successful migration path. I … welcome Acquirer Systems on board the EMV Migration Forum to share with us their valued insight and knowledge of best practice EMV migration."
Acquirer Systems provides card issuers and acquirers with a real-time test environment that simulates the end-to-end payments ecosystem. The company is joining the EMV Migration Forum as it further develops a U.S. presence to support the change from magnetic stripe to chip card technology.
In addition to its forum membership, Acquirer Systems is leading a group of industry participants to identify EMV testing and certification issues specific to participants in the U.S. payments market.
"EMV is a significant technical and cultural step-change for our payments industry," said Fergal Molloy, CEO of Acquirer Systems. "[O]ur role in identifying test and certification issues allows us the opportunity to provide our insight and guidance to other participants, which we hope will contribute to making the transition easier and more rewarding for the industry as a whole."
