MUMBAI, India - Financial Software and Systems, provider of electronic-payment systems and services, announced the launch of an online e-ticketing service that allows Visa cardholders to make payments for Kingfisher Airline tickets at ATMs operated by Andhra Bank. Andhra Bank has more than 500 ATMs across India.
According to a news release, Visa cardholders will book tickets with Kingfisher. The airline then provides cardholders with a unique six-digit booking reference numbers. Six hours after the booking, a cardholder can access his ticket at the ATM using a Visa credit or debit card.
Using Andhra Bank's network connectivity with FSSNeT, the authorization is passed to Kingfisher's network via FSSNeT.
"We are pleased to partner with Andhra Bank and Kingfisher Airlines in this innovative service," said Mr. Rudhraapathy, FSS's director. "For the bank, the unique feature of the airline-ticket-payment fulfillment using any Visa card enables ready access to the large cardholder base. The off-us card transactions would help in higher utilization of the bank's ATM infrastructure."
FSS says it powers more than 85 percent of all card-based transactions for major Indian banks. Through FSSNeT, FSS offers services such as mobile top-up, bilateral and multilateral ATM transaction sharing, and e-ticketing.
FSS expects in the near future to also provide its e-ticketing service at POS terminals and kiosks, Rudhraapathy said.
