Harris County Federal Credit Union, a 66-year-old institution with 17,700 members and $158 million in assets, has selected Dolphin Debit to provide outsourced management of its ATMs.
According to a press release, Dolphin Debit has been handling ATMs for Harris County FCU since May, when the independent deployer brought in 17 new ATMs to replace the credit union's existing fleet, which was previously managed by another provider.
Harris County FCU President Vicki Squires said the credit union wasn't satisfied with the level of service it had been receiving, and moved to Dolphin Debit on the recommendation of several other local credit unions.
"We were having a lot of service issues, and we were looking for a less costly option," Squires said. "We were having to pay way too much attention to our ATMs previously. Now things take care of themselves, which is what we wanted."
The credit union, which serves Harris County employees, has a single downtown Houston branch located near county buildings, and has 17 walkup ATMs in the Houston area, including several in county facilities.
Squires said that when some of these facilities were damaged by Hurricane Harvey, Dolphin Debit worked diligently to remove ATMs from closed buildings and redeploy them in short-term placements until the facilities can be repaired and reopened.
