Diebold to provide new ATMs, outsourced services to Alaskan CU

April 20, 2012

Diebold Inc. announced that it has been chosen by Denali Alaskan Federal Credit Union to upgrade its ATM fleet and provide a variety of integrated services. The credit union's entire fleet of 48 ATMs will be replaced with the Opteva model, half of which will feature deposit automation technology.

Diebold will provide remote diagnostics and repair services to the 18-branch, 56,000-member FI with its OpteView ATM remote service. The solution allows the credit union to identify machine issues and dispatch a Diebold technician as needed. Denali Alaskan expects to realize savings and improved efficiency through the service outsourcing arrangement.

"As we replaced our older-model Diebold ATMs … it made economic sense to also transition various services to Diebold," said Dory Haworth, director of ATM operations at Denali Alaskan. "Rather than retrain our staff, we can rely on Diebold's remote diagnostics, local facilities and technicians to provide the parts and service needed to keep our new ATMs up and running. Receiving reliable service from Diebold's local support staff is especially important in Alaska, where local service can be hard to obtain."

"Providing fast, responsive service is an absolute requirement for Denali Alaskan," said Mychal D. Kempt, VP of North American sales and service operations at Diebold. "Our ability to deliver on that critical need to enhance ATM uptime is the primary reason Diebold has such a strong working relationship with the credit union."
