Diebold to install 100,000th Opteva ATM
July 18, 2007
NORTH CANTON, Ohio - Diebold Inc. has sold its 100,000th Opteva ATM, the company announced in a news release. Diebold hit the milestone after a sale to Missouri-based Commerce Bank.
The Opteva line was introduced in 2003.
According to Diebold, the sale, which is part of an order for more than 300 Opteva ATMS, to Commerce Bank rides on Diebold's 20-year relationship with the bank.
"We're proud to continue our partnership with Commerce Bank and its customers," said David Bucci, senior vice president of Diebold's Customer Solutions Group. "Like Diebold, Commerce is looking to the future of self-service solutions."
The 100,000th ATM's installation is set for July 20 at Commerce Bank's Clayton, Mo., branch. Diebold and Commerce will commemorate the event with a ribbon cutting and demonstration by the National Federation of the Blind to show the ATM's features for visually impaired users.
The Opteva line includes full deposit automation and personalized user services through Agilis software.
"We asked our customers what they think about this technology," said Patty Kellerhals, an executive vice president at Commerce Bank. "We listened when they told us what they need and expect in an ATM, and Diebold helped us to provide a solution with Opteva. In locations where the new Optevas have been installed, our customers have shown they prefer the added convenience the machine offers by increasing their use of ATMs to make deposits.
