Diebold to be exclusive ATM provider for Beijing Olympics

July 8, 2008

BEIJING — Bank of China has installed Diebold Inc.'s Opteva ATMs around key venues and facilities for the 2008 Summer Olympic Games.

According to a news release, the ATMs, which will be located in the Olympic and Media villages in Beijing and Qingdao, will offer users three language options — Chinese, English and French.
Diebold also plans to deploy service resources during the games, to ensure the steady operation. The company also expects to have a components and parts warehouse in place, so that systems issues can be responded to quickly.

Diebold's customer-service-center hours also will be extended in the region to 24 hours each day during the games. Diebold has deployed service resources to Beijing and Qingdao, where a portion of the games will be held.

"We are very proud to be working with Bank of China to have our advanced Opteva ATMs installed in Beijing Olympic facilities," said Daniel Hu, Diebold's vice president and managing director for North Asia and China.
