December 10, 2007

NORTH CANTON, Ohio — Diebold Inc. says it has finalized a deal with BB&T Corp. for the purchase of 300 Opteva ATMs for bank branches and off-premises sites throughout 11 states and Washington, D.C.

The order includes a mix of Opteva ATMs models, which will be used by BB&T to upgrade its existing network of approximately 2,100 ATMs between now and 2010. About 20 Opteva terminals are expected be installed by the end of 2007.

"These terminals feature advanced security mechanisms that protect the assets of our customers, as well as the latest fraud prevention technology to protect consumers," said David Bucci, Diebold's senior vice president of customer solutions.

Opteva ATMs range from lobby cash dispensers to advanced function walk-up and drive-up machines.
