Dash ATM intros mini security sleeve
August 2, 2007
WACO, Texas - Dash ATM LP has announced designed a mini-security sleeve for ATMs that protects cash vaulted within the ATM.
According to a news release, Dash and Advantage Cash Express collaborated to design the sleeve, which is being used by Cash Express to cut the number of physical attacks on its ATMs in Greater Chicago. Attackers often use electronic saws or similar to gain access to ATM vaults.
John Belson, Cash Express' owner, worked with Mike Adams of Dash ATM to come up with a solution that protected only the necessary part of the ATM.
"I just want the cash inside of it secured," Belson said.
The new indoor-security mini-sleeve is designed to weigh approximately 350 pounds and comes equipped with two recessed locks protected with a Magnoal hard plate.
