Dallas police use helicopter to crack down on ATM theft
June 26, 2008
(Dallas) WFAA-TV, Channel 8: For crooks, ATMs are often considered cash cows and easy targets, which is why the Dallas Police Department has decided to drastically change the way they deal with the problem. Due to the brazen acts connected with recent ATM thefts, the chief said the department will respond in force to any report of an ATM theft, including sending the helicopter. The chief also is loosening the department's strict chase policy to give officers more latitude to catch the criminals.
