Contactless cards raise red flags in U.K.
August 13, 2007
ePaynews:The issuance of contactless debit cards poses a danger to U.K. consumers, as it could lead to increased street crime, warns ATM operator Bank Machine Ltd., a U.K. subsidiary of Cardtronics Inc. "The government should insist that contactless cards, if issued at all, are separate from all other cards so that the British public can opt not to carry them if they so choose," said Bank Machine's Ron Delnevo. The warning comes ahead of the planned launch of contactless credit and debit cards in the United Kingdom this September.
