Co-Op to offer imaging technology to credit unions
November 30, 2006
ONTARIO, Calif. - Co-Op Financial Services announced Nov. 30 that it has successfully certified all of the components required to support ATM check imaging.
Co-Op plans to offer member credit unions a complete solution to capture, proofand clear digital check images from the ATM.
"The passing of the Check 21 legislation has created opportunities for us to explore a number of options in digital imaging," said Stan Hollen, Co-Op's chief executive. "We're confident the program we've assembled will benefit our member credit unions by reducing costs and fraud as well as improving the customer experience through increased efficiency and security."
Co-Op, along with a number of partners, began testing the process in 2005. The first successful check-imaging transaction was completed late in the year, allowing the group to move forward with standardization and certification of the various components involved.
