Chittenden Bank reissues 15,000 ATM cards after security breach

(Burlington, Vt.) WCAX-TV, Channel 3: A security breach at Hannaford  Brothers supermarkets a few months ago continues to have a ripple effect. NowChittenden Bank is reissuing about 15,000 MasterCard ATM and debit cards, after recent reports showed fraudulent activity on some of the cards. Many banks immediately sent out new cards to customers when Hannaford announced the breach. But Chittenden decided to wait. Officials say the chance for fraud was small, while the inconvenience of issuing new cards was great.
