Chinese FI deploys Kalignite ATM software
July 16, 2007
BEIJING - KAL has completed its deployment of its Kalignite multivendor software across China Everbright Bank's ATM.
According to a news release, CEB has been a KAL customer since 2006.
"The ATM software project at CEB provides a very successful example for other middle-size banks that are not yet using a multivendor ATM software platform," said Mr. Li Jian, general manager of e-banking for CEB. "One major advantage for us is a much greater choice of ATM hardware, now that we have the Kalignite multivendor ATM platform installed. This was in fact one of the most successful IT projects in CEB, and it led to my team winning the CEB award for the Outstanding Financial Information Technology Project of 2006."
CEB has more than 1,250 ATMs running Windows XP and Kalgnite. The bank now expects to deploy 250 more ATMs by the end of 2007.
CEB's estate includes 17 different ATM models, including cash-recycling ATMs, made by six different manufacturers.
"CEB has provided further proof for banks around the world that multivendor ATM software projects can transform their ATM network," said Aravinda Korala, KAL's chief executive.
