ATM processor Columbus Data Services has successfully completed MasterCard end-to-end certification and is now processing live EMV transactions through the MasterCard Network, the company announced in a press release. CDS completed the final components of the certification on July 31 using a Nautilus Hyosung EMV-certified CE 6.0 ATM.
"While there is certainly more work needed to get all of the networks in the U.S. processing EMV transactions, this is a great first step" said John Willmon, senior vice president of Columbus Data Services. "This provides ISOs with ATMs that are experiencing losses due to the liability shift with an immediate option to convert to EMV today. We are one of the few processors to have successfully completed full end-to-end certification."
CDS is working with several manufacturers to complete certification on additional ATM hardware and software for EMV and expects to have a number of additional models certified soon, the company said.
