Calif. credit union deploys 46 Diebold ATMs

NORTH CANTON, Ohio — Through theintegration of 46 full-service imaging-enabled ATMs, Diebold Inc. assisted Kern County, Calif.-based Kern SchoolsFederal Credit Union inenhancing itsself-service network. Managing 13 full-service branches and one express branch that altogether serve 177,000members, Kern Schools Federal Credit Union worked with Diebold to deploy theimaging ATMs with deposit-automation features to all of its branches.
Since the FI implemented the full-service ATMs across its self-service network,members have expressed greater satisfaction withtheir banking experiences. They have pointed toreduced transaction timesand immediate credit to accounts, making cash more readily accessible, as two highlights.

"Since incorporating thisadvanced functionality into our self-service channel, we've experienced adecrease in fraudulent deposits, reduced service costs and increased staffefficiencies and, most importantly, we've received positive reactions from ourmembers."
In addition to relying on Diebold for implementation of the new ATMs, KernSchools Federal Credit Union is using Opteva 500 cash dispensers to selltheme-park tickets. The incorporation of thisfeature minimizes the amount of time tellers spend sellingtickets and tracking sales.
