WalletTop Blog:Three ATMs throughout the United States have been spotted with skimmers over the last three days, according to reports from The Consumerist. All three have been sighted on ATMs owned by WaMu and Chase. And it's not just happening domestically. Attacks in other parts of the world appear to be on the upswing as well. Are skimming attacks becoming more prevalent? ATM skimmers used to crop up only in unattended ATM locations. But these most recent attacks actually occurred in bank branches, proving that when it comes to scouring their machines for grafted-on devices, the banks aren't doing such a good job. In fact, the WaMu branch admitted it didn't sweep its machines because it didn't know what it was looking for.
