The ATM Industry Association has launched a brief survey whose goal is to determine the readiness of ATM deployers worldwide for its proposed next-gen API app-enabled ATM infrastructure.
The Next Generation project is managed by ATMIA and supported by a consortium of more than 200 companies worldwide representing all sectors of the industry. The consortium has signed off on a new API app model for ATMs, that aims to create an interoperable vendor-agnostic operational environment that gives ATM owners more flexibility and choice when migrating to new operating systems, and that reduces the risk of costly hardware upgrades associated with OS migrations in the past.
A blueprint developed by the for Next Gen ATMs shows the structure envisioned for hardware and software.
As the project is now entering the implementation phase, ATMIA seeks to address the needs of financial institutions and independent ATM deployers in preparing for Next Gen ATMs. ATMIA will soon begin to develop guidelines to help deployers ready their ATM Infrastructure for Next Gen ATMs.
By taking the anonymous survey, ATM operators can help ensure that the Next Gen ATM deployer’s guide provides the most helpful and comprehensive information possible.
