ATM tech gets time behind bars in Conn.

(New York) Newsday:A 46-year-old Wethersfield, Conn., man has been sentenced to 18 months in federal prison for stealing nearly $144,000 from ATMs and trying to ship the money to Romania. Ionel Faina pleaded guilty in July to one count of money laundering. He worked as an ATM technician for Loomis Fargo and was responsible for delivering cash to ATMs. Authorities say Faina stole the money in January from five ATMs, four of which belonged to Bank of America and one to NewAlliance Bank.
