ArcaTech trademarks tech for remote 'cash' capture

September 28, 2008

MEBANE, N.C. —ArcaTech Systems, supplier of transaction-automation solutions for the financial, retail and self-service industries, is earning trademark registration for Remote Cash Capture, defined by ArcaTech to describe the company's new cash-management technology.

According to a news release, Remote Cash Capture, in development for more than a year, allows merchants to collect cash onsite and electronically deposit the funds with a participating bank. Funds are credited to the merchant's account immediately, and secure cassettes containing the cash deposits can be transported to the retailer's financial institution at a later time.

ArcaTech touts RCC's ability to cut costs and shortages while improving cash control and cash availability.

"Remote Cash Capture represents the next technological leap in the cash cycle," said Mort O'Sullivan, president of ArcaTech. "We're advancing a manual, antiquated process and, in turn, lowering the costs of doing business."

ArcaTech's RCC technology compromises an integrated system to handle cash, coins and other media. Limiting in-store cash touchpoints, the systems are designed to help retailers avoid mistakes and discrepancies, eliminating human error and reducing risk of theft. The RCC solution also improves fund availability and operational efficiency by speeding the time required to count, dispense or deposit funds.
