The Amalgamated Bank of Chicago (ABOC) recently unveiled its corporate headquarters and branch at 101 N. Wacker Drive in Chicago's Loop neighborhood. The headquarters is close to 40,000 square feet, with two floors, and a branch on the ground floor, according to a press release.
First founded in 1922, it is a commercial bank that serves unions, businesses and individuals. ABOC is also remodeling the plaza in front of the location to feature banker officers, teller areas, an ATM and an open layout.
"This move represents much more than a change of address," Nick Weaver, CEO and president of ABOC, said in the release. "It is a testament to the success, stability and momentum we've built as a bank. We're excited to create a modern, welcoming space that enhances the customer experience, brings our employees together and positions ABOC for continued growth as we serve Chicago and our customers for generations to come."
The second floor of the building features offices, a boardroom, a cafe space, an employee amenity area, an open lounge and a Trust and Investment Center.
GARNETT Architects led the design, while Cushman & Wakefield represented real estate search and lease negotiations. Executive Construction Inc. did the construction work.
