...top 4, 5 and 6 reasons you should consider a TCR

If you read my article "Top 3 Reasons You Should Consider TCRs" back in February, you may remember me outlining some BASIC benefits of a TCR. Efficiency, Security and Measurable ROI continue to be solid reasons to review (1) adding TCRs to your fleet or (2) upgrading your aging, feature limited, cyber risked fleet.

However, now that I have had more time to objectively review and study the benefits of TCRs, I felt compelled to share some additional information with you, namely, 4, 5 and 6....

Reason #4 to consider TCRs---Improving Your Brand

Would you rather have a Teller with their head down, running to the vault, requesting help for dual control, counting cash, counting cash again, entering the data, printing the receipt, giving it to your customer, realizing they may have made a mistake then noting an audit was coming up very soon or at end of day, all the while there is a line backed in your branch because all the Tellers were doing things..."the way it's always been done".....OR....transform your Tellers into "customer driven, consultative sales" representatives who efficiently use their time to focus on customers not the CASH BURDEN of the branch?? TCRs are a VALUE ADD to your FI and will pay for themselves in a minimum of 5 ways with 1 of them being Improving Your Brand

Reason #5 to consider TCRs---It's 2021!

Let's go back a little bit in time an imagine it's the EARLY 2000s. That's right about when RSM (Rolled Storage Module) TCDs and TCRS were just being implemented, conceived and/or designed. That's also when the very first cell phones (flip I might add) started to become available with a camera! Wikipedia was a baby in 2001 and Google Maps, let's just say, was NOT the primary way most would get directions to locations...especially on their cell phones. That same RSM technology (early 2000s) is still in use today and "some" manufacturers have done very little to improve it's speed, capacity, reliability and flexibility for branches, retail locations etc.

Reason #6 to consider TCRs---Unattended Self Audit

How do you presently perform audits without a TCR? How long does it take a Teller and Head Teller to complete an audit? How often do they need to perform audits? Did you know some older TCRs can't perform audits without emptying the entire TCR and using a cash counter?? The newer, innovative TCR models now offer simple, scheduled or non-scheduled Unattended Self-Audits with a push of a button. No need for dual control, empting/exposure of inventory and FAST.

I continue to be intrigued by the role TCRs play in any business that must process CASH and hope you see value in my thoughts above. My next article will focus outside the FI realm but not certain when I'll be ready to share. In the mean time, please contact me directly if you want to learn more about TCRs or have me put you in touch with one of expert partners nationwide.
