Wendy Rusk named head of Level Four Americas

September 22, 2010

In response to an increase in demand for automated ATM software testing, Level Four Software Ltd. has expanded its international team to support continued worldwide growth, said Ian Kerr, the company’s CEO.

The Dunfermline, Scotland-based company has named Wendy Rusk, a payments executive with 14 years experience, president of Level Four Americas, which is based in Charlotte, N.C.  Rusk led the implementation of the cash automation division at Unisys Payment Systems. She also held roles at De La Rue, Pendum and Loomis Fargo. Kerr had been running Level Four Americas while he searched for someone to head the U.S. office.

Level Four Software also announced that Frank Kidd, a former executive at Wincor Nixdorf AG and NCR Corp., joined Level Four's United Kingdom team as a sales executive. Kidd has more than 20 years sales experience, company officials said.

In addition, the company hired Ranura Abeysekera as regional presale consultant. Abeysekera, who has experience in ATM network management, will be based in Dubai. He oversaw electronic channels at Hatton National Bank Ltd., Sri Lanka’s largest privately held bank, the company said.

Level Four is increasing the number of employees because of growing revenues, Kerr said. Level Four reported its best ever financial performance in the fiscal year ending June 2010. The company recorded a 30 percent increase in revenue compared with 2009’s fiscal year.  The figures, however, are pre-audited, and the company cannot quote actual numbers until they are audited, a spokesperson said.

Level Four secured its first contract in France with one of the country’s banks in addition to other deals in Asia and Europe.

Kerr said the company is capitalizing on new market opportunities, such as Australia, which is migrating its ATMs to EMV.
